GREAT location if you are going to Mayo

Excellent
GREAT location if you are going to Mayo Clinic. You just walk across the street and enter the hospital where a wheel chair will be available.
ALL STAFF is outstanding EXCEPT for the HATEFUL manager. He was rude and quite unfriendly at check-out....
We stayed in a queen size room which had the bed pushed right up to the window air conditioner because the room was so small. Since it was July we of course needed to run the air during the night and it blew right on us since the bed was against the a/c unit. As for the toilet, it was situated right next to a window....need I say more! There was a hair dryer in the room but no way to plug it in so it could be used. On the positive side the room was clean and close to the Mayo Clinic.
Great Location for the Mayo Clinic

Okay
We agree with a previous comment regarding how this hotel had a "European Flair". There was a sign in the lobby saying that they were no longer going to have smoking rooms. Our 9 year old love the two bed concept as our room was really a...

Nothing.Everything.“Completely Gross! Windows didn't open. Moldy and sour smell that gave me an awful headache. Wore slippers because carpet was nasty. Ended up sleeping on top of covers because there were pubes in the sheets. Sink & tub didn't...

I booked my 5 night stay at this hotel because I had to take my 2 year old daughter to the Mayo Clinic. Upon arrival, I was shocked to discover that the rooms did not have a micro/fridge as posted on their website. I immediately went to the front desk and was told that not only did they not have any micro's/fridges in their rooms, but none to share in the lobby area etc. This posed a huge problem for me as my daughter has meds that need to be refrigerated etc. I said that I needed to cancel my reservation and was told that it was non refundable because I booked it on the days inn website. To add insult to injury, this honestly was the poorest hotel I've ever stayed at...I can't believe Days Inn would out their sign on something so disgraceful. Their website says "newly renovated in 2007"...our rooms renovation included a new sink in the bathroom - that was it. Also, the heat was stuck in the "on" position, so we had the run the 20 year old window air conditioner to keep it comfortable. The beds had a huge sag in the middle, only one ice machine for the entire hotel, no vent in the bathroom to get rid of the steam, the toilet was pushed so tightly against the wall that you literally had to turn almost sideways to use it, and the rooms themselves were smaller than anything I've ever seen before. I talked to several people at the mayo clinic about my experience and was told that they don't ever recommend going there because of the problems people have. At the end of the day, I paid $385 to be irritated and upset, and ultimately ended up moving to the Ramada, which, I would highly recommend to anyone.
I chose the Downtown Days Inn after reading some of the reviews stating it had been upgraded and had improved. I booked via the internet for 4 days for a nonsmoking room. Upon arrival, it was dingy, dark and not clean. My room on the 5th floor...

Good
Across from Mayo Renal Clinic, this old fashioned hotel is charming and quaint. It was clean and smelled nice, the front desk checked on us to make sure everything was good, it was! Will return.
