Every summer, my family and I stay in a days inn hotel wherever we are. After checking the photos online, I figured it looked pretty nice. When we arrived, the appearance looks nice until you travel around back where the hotel looks really run down. When getting into the room, we noticed a number of things. It was dirty, the towels had stains on them, there was no fridge or microwave, the bathroom was spacious, only for the fact that the counter was inside (unlike others we stayed in and how the pics portrayed it) and the counter didn't have any room to sit anything at all. The coffee pot was in there for goodness sakes!!! Inside the bathroom!!! Other than that it was a little hard to get clean towels and then when took a shower, it took about 10 minutes for the water to get hot and when it finally did, it went from hot, to cold, and back to hot. It was not a pleasant experience. My dad checked us out and into the one in Ashland, which was 10 times better! Oh, and if you are visiting kings dominion, ashland is the closest one...don't let them fool you into staying here! Oh, and there were thousands of wasps and bees outside as well..so be careful if you are allergic. And we didn't get in the pool, but it only goes to 3 feet.

This place advertised wireless in-room high speed internet connections. I chose it just for that, had some work to do that evening. 1st room had no signal. 2nd room had a very weak signal, local only (i.e. the modem was somewhere but no internet access was available through it). Meanwhile the lobby, which is in a separate building, had a nice strong signal. It was obvious when you went around back that the owners or caretakers of the place live above the lobby in that building, that's probably why. Otherwise the place is older and kind of shabby. I got them to cancel the charge on my card and went and stayed somewhere else with working internet.

I arrived after midnight and was not allowed in the lobby; all transactions took place through a window, suggesting to me that crime could be a problem there. Also, my room was accessible BOTH from the parking lot and from an inside hallway; AND the inside hallway door was open when I arrived! The room was clean but accommodations were minimal. Breakfast was served in a separate building that appeared to double as a bar and gym, and only bagels and toast were provided along with juice and coffee. This place was the pits!

I liked the location with easy access to I-95. I did not like the back part of the hotel, it was not clean and people were just sitting out on the steps of the hotel as you were trying to get to your room.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Days Inn Richmond.
I might recommend it to friends.

The location was okay, but off the beaten path. They advertised an internet connection, but it wasn't working and when it finally did work the signal was so weak it might as well have not been working. The staff didn't seen to care one way or the other.
