Days Inn Port Charlotte Motel

Walked in without a reservation, waited 10 minutes while rude clerk chatted on her cell phone and filed her nails. Went to first room, key did not work, went back to desk, waited 15 minutes while clerk finished personal call. Inept manager went with me to open door, room was filthy, had mold stains a on walls and ceiling, he offered another room that was even worse than the first. I asked if all the rooms were like this, he said, "What do you expect for $79?" I was taken aback by this and stayed one horrible night. At midnight I was awoken by by loud thump thump of rap music in the room next door, apparently this motel caters to local gang bangers, beer bottles all over the walkway; there was an ambiance of being in a gang war crossfire, loud swearing, music, trash, and no concern for safety.

We stayed two nights from 10/24 through 10/26, 2007.

The staff at the registration desk was helpful and friendly. Our room was on the third floor, and it was spacious, clean, and best of all, the bathroom was exceptionally clean and had an excellent shower head. The bed mattress, linens and pillows (6 provided) were fresh and clean, as were the bath towels. There were ample electrical outlets which is always a nice feature for us.

The maid service personnel actually wore uniforms, and were professional and thorough. The air conditioner was slightly loud, but not obtrusive.

The continental breakfast provided fresh fruits and cereals, along with bagels and cream cheese and muffins. The grounds were clean and well maintained. We would stay at this hotel again in a minute, and give it our highest rating.

The front desk clerk was personable. The price was a little high. The room was comfortable.

This hotel made me feel secure: I had lost power at my home. I needed somewhere to go and this was the closest motel. I felt safe there.

The hotel is a comfortable and affordable place to stay that is in a convenient location to family. There's good food at Johnny B Good's restaurant next door.

They are very accommodating. I have to sleep in a recliner and they are the only hotel that I have found that will put one in your room. For health reasons I have to have it or I can't sleep -- I can't breathe lying down. Therefore I will always stay at Days Inn if there is one available.
