27 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
I don't usually write reviews...whether good or bad, but what happened at this place was awful. I stayed here 2 nights. I thought the location would be nice since it was near the beach. Well the location wasn't the best, but what I am about to tell you is worse. To start off, the walls are paperthin, you can hear everything happening next door....
The worst part though, is that I had my passport stolen out of the room safe. I put it in there as I always do, I always use the safe in the room if one is available. In anycase, after discovering that my passport was gone, I of course went through my room like a mad woman. Tore it apart 3x over...before heading down to the office for help. When I let the manager know it was missing, he automatically told me it was me who lost it. Didn't offer support. Immediately got very defensive, started twitching and losing it. I asked him if anyone else had access, he said only he did. He showed me the device, angrily. I asked simply if someone could possibly have gotten a hold of that...he began yelling at me in front of other guests...and my friend. The maids were all sitting there in the room. One was very suspicious. The front desk clerk was also very rude, very much supportive of the manager and his awful customer service skills. When I asked if there were security cameras, so that I could see if anyone else had entered my room, he said no. My friend then noticed that there was a large tv with all the exterior views (security cameras)....he had lied to my face. In anycase, I called 911 and the Oceanside police were fantastic....when I went to check out after the police came, he continued to be a jerk.
I just wanted to share this, because losing your passport in a foreign country is scary. Especially when it was stolen right out of your room safe...you would hope the management would do something...instead of yelling, accusing and making you feel worse that you already did. I wouldn't recommend this place, for a few reasons...but mostly because the lack of customer service is absolutely astonishing.

My trip centered around my son's homecoming to Camp Pendleton after serving a second tour of duty in Iraq. This hotel is about as close as you can get to the front gate (about 2 minutes away by car) and was convenient for us all to get together...
This is my favorite place to stay while at the beach. It is affordable, well maintained, and most of all within walking distance to the beach and harbor. Joe's Crabshack is an added bonus, and I never fail to relax and forget the stress of...

Okay
The hotel is close to the I-5 freeway and that's a good thing because everything in the area is spread out. The Oceanside Harbor and beach is walking distance, and there are good restaurants as well as gift shops in that area. If you're looking for...
