For the last leg of our cross country move, ultimately settling down in Novato as residents, I made reservations with this property online through the Days Inn web site two days prior to arrival.
Approximately 90 minutes before we were to arrive, I was called on my cell phone by the hotel telling me "Pets Allowed" means dogs only, no cats (we have a small dog and small declawed cat). The owner got on and told me cats aren't allowed because they bite! So after nine days on the road and the end in sight, we ended up at another local hotel, which turned out to host some very undesirable "guests".
Having been a loyal Days Inn customer for years, the Novato property has made Days Inn a phrase which now brings up bad memories. We travel extensively on family weekend trips, and I can guarantee that Days Inn will not be a part of our agenda any longer.
