I am a frequent traveler who has stayed at the Novato Days Inn a couple of times a week due to their convenient locale and their decent prices. However, the lady at the front desk scolded me while I was putting together my complimentary breakfast plate. She told me that I was only allowed to eat the food if it was eaten in the room where they served it. I never had a problem the other days I have stayed, nor have I ever been told I could not have food in my room with my family either, it was embarrassing and rude!
I offered to leave my food there because I didn’t feel comfortable eating in the lobby, and she said "I let you take it, but I expect to see you tomorrow morning eating in here or you cant participate in the breakfast.” This is not how you approach people, nor how you should inform a guest at your facility if you expect them to return.
Also, I travel with my small dog which I have to pay the extra 10 dollars per stay, and I was paying for an extra day’s stay when the lady asked “Do you have your dog with you again?” I said, “Yes, I paid the extra for him.” She said, “Well, because you can’t keep the same room.” I said, “Well, the man who worked last night knew I had my pet because I made a point to make it clear to him, because it always seems to be a problem.” I told her that I would switch rooms after she was obviously mad about the room I had, but she said that only certain rooms are allowed to have pets! Anyway, they advertise pets are welcome, but every time I show up, there seems to be a problem, and after being always polite and understanding toward the hotel rules/policies I feel like I have paid them to treat me very poorly. I am disappointed.
