Days Inn New Stanton Hotel - Page 1

I was there 2 weeks ago and though they were one of the few hotels in the area that had availabilty- I was discontent with my experience. Customer service was poor, if you are a non-smoker beware, and the room was dirty. When I requested an iron none were available and when I asked that housekeeping come to remove the maxi-pad liner I found in the tub along with the hair I found everywhere I was told that housekeeping nor the manager were available. For the price, I was dismayed by the service or lack customer there of. I can say that the bed was comfortable and the location is convenient in respect to it being near the highway, restaurants and gas station.

I loved this hotel because it had a wonderful full breakfast that was free and this allowed me to feed my whole family for free which was such a nice added benefit. We are going to stay there again in just one month for another four days and we chose there just because the breakfast was free and the people running the breakfast went out of their way to make sure my family was happy. The only complaint I have is that a couple of the days my family experienced not enough food to serve them due to the fact the hotel did not stock enough food for the guests and it was gone before we all got there. But all in all it was a positive experience.

We stay here and in Ohio on our way to and from Philadelphia.

This hotel made me feel welcome: We were preregistered from the welcome center. The restaurant was good. The breakfast was excellent.

When the State Police are at the entrance of the hotel when you arrive, you should keep going. The hotel is kind of old. The check-in process took a while as there was only one girl working the very busy counter and answering two different phones. The rooms were ok. The pool was outside and dirty at the bottom. The breakfast room was very small and very much overcrowded in the morning. Given the choice I would pass on this hotel next time.

The only problem we encountered is that we didn't find the lobby to be very handicap accessible. You had to go outside and around the building to get to the lobby to go to breakfast. This was a pain because we had a handicapped child and had to load her up in the van just to go to breakfast. The breakfast and the hotel staff that worked there were superb in service and food, some of the days we stayed there they ran out of breakfast items before the breakfast was due to close that was rather irritating at the high prices we paid.

This hotel made me feel welcome: The people who did the breakfast always greeted us and went out of their way to make my daughter a special sausage. The staff was very helpful in giving us extra pillows.
