I used to travel for a living, so I've stayed in quite a few hotels - some in the most remote parts of the country. This was the worst one ever, and unfortunately we stayed there for part of our honeymoon in June 2005. I was banking on Days Inn's reputation - bad call.
We checked in at 3pm, and breakfast was still in the lobby (milk & everything). The owner's collection of dolls sitting on every open space in the lobby was covered with dust, and the place smelled funny.
When we arrived at our room, the phone was from another room, the refrigerator didn't work (found out later when our ice cream went bad), and the air conditioning was louder than my Dad's diesel. Sure, there's cable TV, but only a 13" screen & bad color. Oh, and the bedspread had cigarette burns in it, even though it was a non-smoking room.
The bathroom didn't have any soap or shampoo, and there was a large brown handprint (paint, fortunately) on the bathroom door. When we informed the management of the bathroom situation, they just acknowledged the handprint but didn't try to do anything about it.
And that pretty much sums it up - this hotel was in a state of gross neglect. Unless things have changed in the past 2 years, do not stay here.
