Customer service is what most of the people that work at this place lack. Don't they have customer service training or something? I guess that reflects from the front desk manager.
I thought this Hotel was really great. It was a great location right between Gurnee and Libertyville, plus the Gurnee Mills mall and the Hawthorn mall. Also great proximity to the Interstate, Major roads, the Metra Rail into Chicago, restaurants,...
Everything was fine, except the breakfast. You don't get much for breakfast. Very little to choose from. I've had better breakfast at other places.
The rooms smelled like urine and were dirty. The towels were dirty and the floor in the bathroom had urine dried on the floor, and when I asked for another room I was treated like I was trying to rob the place.
I am not sure, but I would swear that something was crawling in the bed (I kept itching) and had little red bite marks on my legs and arms when I woke up. The staff was unfriendly and unwilling to help and said a number of times that we were not allowed to give refunds or discounts because the owners told them not to, and once you pay for the room, its your problem.
It is another example of a hotel that is run poorly and with no care for the guests. The breakfast was a joke (not that I ate it) they had brown and bruised fruit, no juice or muffins, and donuts that were hard as a rock.
I have never had an overnight stay in a hotel/motel as bad as this one. When I tried to call the main office for Days Inn and tell them about my stay, I was told to take it up with the manager of the property and it was not their problem. Now I see where the staff and owners get their customer service skills from.
