The owners were nice and friendly and very accommodating. Pool area was very nice. It appeared the outside had been recently updated. Would be nice if the sink and bathroom areas were updated as well. Clean. Would stay there again.

I should have checked Trip Advisor and not relied on one of the more recent reviews here, but I wanted to find something at the last minute and spend what we usually spend, which is $55 a night at the Halcyon House, which is closer to Mass St. Halc

WOW - this hotel went thru a transformation. It was an old run down Best Western, but now its great. Clean rooms, nice lobby. I was surprised to see a plasma tv in the room.

The room was clean. Had new carpet, drapes including liners, & bed spread that matched the drapes. It had a huge new TV, Ironing board & iron. Sun lamp and great soap & shampoo. They were in the process of replacing all the Mirrors, dressers and night stands- the old one looked pretty good still. The bed an extra pad and was VERY comfortable.
Now for the bad stuff:
The blanket was dirty; so was the coffee pot but I Always wash that before I use it.
We left for 1 hour in the morning before we checked out and someone came in to our room and went through packed stuff and took our camera & one of my husbands shirts. We did not find this out until we were home. When I called the motel and asked them about this - they laughed at me

This place was not clean. We had to switch our first room due to the bathroom not being cleaned. Our second room was equally dirty and the bed did not have sheets on it; just a gross dirty brown blanket. After that, we asked for a refund and ended up staying at the Baymont next door.

Horrible
This was by far the dirtiest & most poorly maintained hotel we have ever experienced. Are there no health inspections in Lawrence? They should be ashamed, even for a college town! There was enough mold in the bathroom to make...

Horrible
We reserved two rooms. Both rooms had dirty floors. One room did not have pillow cases on the pillows. The breakfast bar ran out of milk by 8:00 a.m. You got the impression that "hands on" management was almost non existent.
