34 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Room was fine. Nothing special, just okay. The main thing we wanted was a heated pool to enjoy with our 2 year old boy and a jacuzzi to relax in. When we checked in, they said "yes the pool is heated and we have a jacuzzi". Well, the pool was heated to a whopping 76 degrees; uncomfortably cool. When I questioned the temperature, I was told that it was maintained at the standard of 78 degrees. By what standard is 78 considered a HEATED pool? Oh, and the jacuzzi is empty. Dry as a bone. Save yourself 20 bucks and stay in one of the numerous other joints nearby that are just as nice with no pool.

43 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
We reserved a room via hotels.com and arrived on 12/22/2007 at around 5:30pm. My family checked in which included myself, my wife and my son who is 17 and our little dog. We had reserved the room on the internet and saw that pets were allowed but when we checked in the person at the front desk who I later found out was the manager only asked about the age of our son and never asked whether or not we had a pet. Of course my assumption was that pets were allowed as written on the amenities section. We were given a 10% coupon for dinner across the street at the Olympic Kitchen. We drove across the street to eat dinner and left our Yorkie in the car while we ate. When we got back in the car to return to the hotel about an hour had passed. It was cold outside (snow and ice on the ground) so the dog of course had become cold in the car. My wife wrapped her in a blanket to warm her and we went back to the hotel. Upon entering the hotel the manager asked me if there was a dog in the blanket. I said yes and then she said that dogs were not allowed in the room and that she had asked me when we checked in whether of not we had a pet. I said that she had not asked me and had assumed that pets we ok as written on the internet amenities page. She said they had special rooms for pets and I replied that we would be glad to move. She said we could not since we had already been in the room and that she was going to charge us a $24 dollar cleaning fee plus $10 dollars for the pet. I again protested that she never asked and she pointed to a video camera and said it was captured on video. I then replied that we should review the video because both myself and my son never heard her ask about the pet. She then said that if we did not pay the extra fee she would check us out right now (basically kicking us out).
I have never been treated so badly in my entire hotel staying experience. This manager should absolutely not be running a business where customer service is involved. I do not appreciate her accusations of our trying to underhandedly sneak our pet into the room or the Draconian manner in which she basically extorted the extra fees from us. This experience will stain our opinion of this hotel specifically and of the Days Inn corporation in general.

It was a good location. I have stayed at this hotel before with no problems. The most recent time though the room heaters seemed inadequate. The hotel staff was reluctant to accept my complaint. Otherwise, the property meets the general standards of Days Inn hotels.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Days Inn Gallup West.
I would not recommend it to friends.
The manager was a very rude person. Kitchen in morning closed at nine am and still did not have enough food to go around. Crickets in the rooms. Floors are not new as advertised. No Pool as advertised. R.L.C.

Horrible
Seemed to be decent at first, but found a few beetles and moths in our room when we entered during the day. there is a huge empty field behind the motel so at night, every imaginable bug was attracted by the light. A few managed to get in each time...

The location is what was most attractive. Its near a number of restaurants, the main highway, etc. The price was right.
They were very helpful in providing local information. Also there was trouble opening a side door to access the main corridor. They were helpful and concerned that this problem was solved.
I am very likely
to return to the Days Inn Gallup West.
I might recommend it to friends.

Everything seemed okay until the power went out in our room. We called the front desk and they said it would reset in a few minutes. We waited, and nothing happened. We ended up getting ready in the dark and went to confront the frnt desk. the...
