Stay Away
member icon Cockroach city!

50 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This was the filthiest hotel room I've ever seen. We didn't stay! Huge cockroaches scattered when the lights were turned on. The braver ones stayed on the walls and giggled at our shock. The room smelled rank, the bedspreads were torn, some kind of brown, dripping stain was dried on the wall, and black grime was on the stem of the lamp and on the wall switchplate. Clean is a basic service any lodger should expect. This place is beyond disgraceful! Stay away!!

Great

They were very gracious at this hotel. We were there because my child had heart surgery at Shands and they even gave us a special discount because of the hospital stay.

I am very likely to return to the Days Inn Gainesville.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

44 year old woman with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

I am from Ohio. My son was involved in a car accident in Gainesville and was in the Shands Hospital. This location was very convenient, being only 1/4 mile from the hospital. It's an older hotel, very interesting, probably one of the finest in its day. There are plans for a complete renovation, and there is some work in progress which does not interfere with your stay in any way. I can't say enough about the staff. They have become like family, every day asking about my son's progress and offering words of encouragement. They kept my room clean and I looked forward to the smiling faces in the morning when I went to the lobby for my breakfast. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at each return visit for my son's follow up appointments. This place was wonderful for me, and for family and friends who came down to visit. I stayed at this hotel for an extended period. I have no complaints. I came for the price and got so much more than I bargained for.

I am very likely to return to the Days Inn Gainesville.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Poor
Hotel Review by a traveler from Tallahassee, FL - Posted May 4, 06
33 year old woman with a economy budget, traveling for business

There was no Internet access, unless you had a dial up connection and that cost as a long distance call. The furniture was very dated and the complex was in need of general repair.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Days Inn Gainesville.
I would not recommend it to friends.
