Days Inn Fremont Hotel

Tried to be cheap and paid the price. The guy at the check-in desk didn't have a name tag, had a Jaegermeister shirt on, not very friendly. Went to the room, out of the 4 lights, 2 didn't work. The refrigerator broken, cigarette burns in the blanket, and it smelled like 20 people were smoking in there at the same time. It looked like someone had died in the room, it was very dark and uncomfortable. The hallways are dim, and I guess you get what you pay for. Our money was refunded but that was after giving the front desk guy money to put in his pocket. We spent a total of 30 minutes at this place.

Checked in, checked out. Room had cockroaches, another room dirty.

This was a fine hotel for economy class. I just needed a clean room and a bed for a few nights with no frills. The parking lot was pretty small. One time I got the last parking spot and the hotel was not full. I would not know where to park if the lot was full.

Everything was good.

They were not very friendly during check-in. They didn't allow us to use the AAA discount even though they supposed to. My advice for tourists is to kindly insist on applying the AAA discount if you are AAA member, because by default the staff will try to avoid this as much as possible. Don't give up if they say that AAA discounts sometimes does not apply, or are valid only online. That's not true. Also, be prepared that you will be asked to wait some time even if nobody is in line. They are very unfriendly. I was surprised. The service at the front desk is definitely below average.
