Days Inn Dubuque Motel

It was a nice place. It was close to where I needed to be.

It is well priced for the comfort and service provided. The service replaced a bad light within minutes of my call and they checked the remaining lights while there.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: There were items similar to my home in the room.

I liked the hotel and everything and I loved the fact that we could have our pet with. The only thing that bothered us was the noise from the street. We live in a rural area without much traffic noise so staying in a hotel that our room faced the highway traffic kept us from getting a restful sleep.

This hotel made me feel important: The person on duty found us a room with a king size bed in. My daughter was given extra blankets and pillows. My husband was thrilled as he did not have to try to fit onto a full size bed. Instead we had a king size bed like we have at home which was more relaxing to us.

I travel for a living and do not have lavish standards. I generally have had pleasant experiences at most budget hotels and have stayed in Days Inn hotels in many states. I booked and stayed in a room at this hotel last weekend and I found it to be a repulsive experience, so much so that I am submitting my first ever hotel review online.

This place seems like it was build in the 1950s and has never been refurbished. My room was musty and damp smelling and the place just seemed grimy and unpleasant. I just could not relax. The wallpaper was hanging loosely from the corners of the bathroom area which was screened away by an ugly wooden screen, the ceiling had a large dark strip of dust that was blown out from the A/C and the visual experience was hard to handle.

I do believe that the staff has done their best to keep things tidy, but the bottom line is that the hotel at large looks like it is a month away from being condemned. At $89 a night before tax (just over $100 after) I could have done much better elsewhere, often Days Inn hotels are so much nice at around half the price.

It is conveniently located and it has wireless Internet.
