23 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I stayed here in the beginning of Feb 08. The location of this hotel is very convenient to Downtown DC. The room was very comfortable. I am a comforter freak so I was excited that they provide you with feather-downed comforters. The negative things about this hotel was the water pressure SUCKED in the bathroom. The last day/night of our stay the toilet wouldn't flush and the shower pressure was upsetting. The walls in the room are especially thin. I had a hard time accessing wireless, and you have to pay for daily parking. Nonetheless, I think I would stay here again for a short trip.

P.S.

There is a pizza place across the street with AMAZING pizza!!!

25 year old woman with a economy budget, traveling for business

First, I got conflicting information from different employees. Before arriving, I called to make sure that the hotel bill could be split on 3 different credit cards; the woman who answered said that was fine. Once there, I was told they could only split on 2 credit cards. When checking out, the man there asked how many credit cards we would like to split the charge on, saying we could do 3 if we liked.

Then the room was TINY. There was barely enough walking room between the beds and tv. The bathroom was also tiny and not particularly clean. There were 4 of us staying there for a conference and although it supposedly fits 4 people, we were definitely not comfortable there.

Then there is the water damage in the bathroom; gross. The lower wooden part of the sink and cabinet piece had clearly gotten wet in the past and had all pulled up, looking rotten.

And the free wireless? Great, if it worked. We were there for 5 days; it worked for 2, with no explanation or apology.

Overall, it's in a good location, but is a poor hotel. I will not be returning.

I was apprehensive about staying at the Days Inn after reading all of the negative reviews, but it was the right price and everyone said it recently underwent a renovation.

We arrived at 4:00; check-in was supposed to be at 3. Our room was not ready and we had to wait in the lobby until around 4:30.

The room is fine for two people size-wise and I first thought "phew, it isn't *that* bad." Then I found lipstick on both sides of the pillow. Then I discovered lots of mold in the shower. All problems seemed to center around the cleaning service. The room also did not appear to be renovated - the bathtub/shower had broken pieces and looked quite old.

Free wireless is nice, though, so bring your laptop along. Internet is otherwise pay via television or their business center.

The location is great, though. The metro is about 2 blocks away (around a half hour from downtown Washington attractions, including the convention center) and there are lots of stores and restaurants within those two blocks - CVS, Giant, Burger King, a great Indian place, Chinese, sandwich shops, etc. The Italian restaurant joined to the hotel is a little pricey, but the pizza there is great! Remember that since the hotel is so close to the UDC campus, you can also order take out from campusfood.com.

The location is excellent for taking public transportation and there are several restaurants and fast food places right in the vicinity. The staff was excellent, too, very efficient and friendly. We highly recommend this Days Inn hotel and we will be using them again on our nest trip to Washington, DC.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: Everyone was friendly and helpful. They were quick to offer suggestions for dinner or sights to see.

I am very likely to return to the Days Inn Connecticut Ave.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Well, for the price tag this is a good value. However there are some things to warn about:

- the only male receptionist is very unfriendly, never bothering to greet in the morning

- the coffee here is the worst I have ever tasted in my whole life

- the equipment reflects the number of stars for this hotel, somewhat oldish and pretty used, the bathrooms look like from the 19th century.

- you may find long black female hairs in the bath...

Positive is that there is plenty of services in around of the hotel, like pharmacy, grocery, breakfast deli's etc.

In conclusion, for a budget traveller, this seems to be a pretty good value.
