Days Inn Clearfield Motel

There must have been a flood in Clearfield since the last review was posted here. I also had to do a double-take when I read, at the top of this page, that this place was renovated 3 years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if any of the rooms have had a thorough cleaning in the last 3 years. If you go by the other reviews posted here, then you will wind up kicking yourself.

My family rented two rooms here for a nearby family reunion. Both rooms were dirty and musty smelling. The bed linen felt as if it hadn't been changed in weeks. In a short time, the socks of the children that were in our group were black and greasy from walking on the carpet. It was obvious that the carpets hadn't been cleaned in a long time. There was hair in the drain of the bath tub in my room and scum on the tub's surface. The rooms had inadequate lighting (probably for the best) that was just enough to illuminate the yellow tinted "non-smoking room" walls. I actually felt dirty after I got out of the shower. After driving as long as we did none of us were up to dealing with these sub-standard conditions. When we got up the next morning it seemed that no one got any kind of rest. The staff didn't seem very concerned about our disappointment. Corporate Days Inn didn't seem too interested in making things right either. It says a lot about a corporation when they're not concerned about their customer's satisfaction. This was probably the worst hotel stay that I've ever experienced. Do yourself a favor and keep on driving or stay at another local hotel.

One thing I did not like was that there were not an iron and an ironing board available in the room. There was plenty of space in the room. The temperature controls worked fine.

I was pleased with the clean room and the friendly desk clerk.

It is ok. I usually stay there when visiting Clearfield. It is easy to get to from Route 80.

A Great nights Rest. On 8/25/2006 we stopped at this motel and was treated with wecome arms. They let me check the room out and answered all question. I found the room cleaness outstanding. The beds were in good shape and the breakfast was fresh and good. I would stop there again. The price was under the others in the area. try them out.
