Days Inn Castaic Motel - Page 1

Unlike the pretty pictures they post online of the hotel and the rooms, the facility itself is in need of serious help. The rooms contain worn out furnishings, dirty walls and are poorly lighted. The on site laundry facility was out of order and by the looks of it has been for some time. The free continental breakfast consists of small prepackaged rolls only, coffee was made only after requesting it. The free wireless was also not worth the frustration. Four different available connections of which one was actually functional and with over 50 guests using it, the connection was slower than 28kbps dialup. The only perks to the place is the wide variety of restaurants and other services within six blocks of the hotel as well as easy access to Interstate 5. After a five day stay I was glad to move on.

At the end of a long days drive, the checking-in was quick and easy. The room was standard Days Inn fare but was clean and did not smell like a smoking room. I didn't use the pool or spa. The "breakfast" was just coffee, OJ, and packaged Danish. There was a cafe down the street but not in walking distance. WiFi worked fine.

Reserved 3 non smoking rooms, were not available when we checked in. Offered candle and air freshner.

The room smelled smoky even though it was a non-smoking room.

This hotel made me feel excited: I was right next to the magic mountain. The atmosphere was great.
