We offered to pay for all three of our rooms on arrival, but management insisted this was unnecessary, so we only paid for two, knowing that my mother would arrive later in the evening. When we returned from Baccaulaureate, they had sold my third room to someone else, because the debit card that I had reserved with had inadequate funds (something I had told them when we were going to go ahead and pay with a credit card). There were no other rooms available, so they gave my fiance a rollaway cot to put in our room. It was in such bad shape that he took the mattress and put it on the floor. The shower curtains were moldy and dirty towels had been left in the room. We also found bugs.

When we received our credit card bill, they had charged us an extra person charge, and a rollaway charge. It was graduation weekend, and I believe they even attempted to raise the rate, after I'd already been quoted a set rate for the two days.

While the ladies in the office seemed nice, management was lousy, inconsiderate and rude.

I have been taking a group of singles from my church every year for the past five years to Smith Mountain Lake. We stayed at this Days Inn the first year and things were decent except for the noisy, smelly, bug- invested rooms. The second year we came back and things were a little worse. The rooms had only decade more, and the service was sub- par. We tried other hotels for a few years, however this past trip we tried it again due to somewhat lower cost. However, our past experience was the worst. 1st: we booked the "conference room" which was really more like a big storage closet than any thing else, which we also had to set up ourselves including traking down chairs throughout the hotel. 2nd: the bad rooms got worse, we had such a bad bug infestation that half of us ended staying outside the entire night. 3rd: the staff acted as if it were not there problem the morning (we had to speak to them in the morning because we could not find anyone throughout the night) 4th: then they tried to charge us an extra $400.00 dollars over the agreed price stating that they never remembered confirming us at that price and then stating that the printed confirmation page that had brought was forged.

I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

If you do watch out for the creepy crawlees.

It would be good that all the rooms that are listed as handicapped friendly were really fully handicapped friendly.

This hotel made me feel welcome: I stay there all the time and they welcome me as an old friend.

The place was very clean, great service and everyone was very friendly. The hotel is very nice. Overall a great hotel. The breakfast was pretty good. The pool was a little chilly but you get use to it and a great swim. Its about 3 miles from the Smith Mountain Lake. which is a great place to kick back and relax.

The rooms were dirty, I had problems with the people staying below us playing loud music and I think the lady who worked the front desk was afraid to say anything to them. So we had to deal with loud music very late into the night. Overall, I would not stay there again.
