I usually stay at a days inn while traveling as the rates are decent and the rooms have always been nice. Our room was booked via internet by our traveling companion; and room number was 258.
I am sure you will be hearing from our fellow traveler as his accommodations were worse than ours.
Our room had no curtains. The window blinds were broken and would not open and close. We had checked in to clean up before dinner only to find only one towel when we booked two double beds as our child was with us.
When I went to use the phone to complain to housekeeping THERE WAS NO PHONE IN THE ROOM!!
They advertised a pool, the sign on the road said pool open and AFTER checking in were told that the pool was closed for renovations. On closer inspection when going to see the pool it was posted clearly and marked closed by Randall County Health Department.
The bathrooms in the lobby were dirty and had no towels for drying your hands. The manager offered us another room and when we went into that one found that the bathroom lights did not work. I asked him how one could clean a bathroom properly without light. He shrugged his shoulders and I demanded a refund, as did our traveling companions. When I saw other patrons entering the lobby I told them of our plight - only to be told by them that they were renting a room in the basement. I cringe to anticipate what that lodging looked like.
Fortunately we were able to have our money refunded and was able to get a room at the Super 8 up the road so we could rest before continuing onto Myrtle Beach, SC. Needless to say I thought someone at corporate would like to know of the issues we suffered. They have yet to respond.
Unfortunately I'll think twice next time I need travel accommodations.
