Hotel dirty, the carpet seems to never be cleaned or even vacuumed; the sheets were dirty and stained with blood; when my husband and I went to the front desk to give the complaint, the clerk was very rude and crude. We were assigned another room and it smelled, the telephone never worked, Through our stay, we had problems with people knocking on my door early in the morning becouse the reservation was a pure disaster, in other words, they sold the room to others also; but worse, the next morning was finding a MOUSE in the bathroom. We will never stay in this hotel again. I always have a Days Inn as my first hotel choice, but since this horrible experience I think Days Inn is not aware of compliance with its standards.
At the price, we were concerned, but thought we'd try it. We were pleasantly surprised. Although the hotel does not provide complimentary b'fast, for the difference in price, we could go to the IHOP next door (and they offer discount coupons for...

I stayed in this dump for 29 days. It was forced upon me by my company, otherwise, I would have chosen a much nicer place. The electrical outlet by the sink did not work, the telephone never worked, the elevator never worked, when taking a shower the lower faucet still ran water and I could not adjust the water temp because of it, The tile around the bathtub was broken and had a hole in the wall, the pillows were down and I am allergic to them and they had no others to replace them with, the desk staff were rude and crude, the wifi kept going out and they had no clues, the stairs were cracked and broken. The hotel is in a terrible part of town, no good food or entertainment in the area. Buses parked across the parking spaces and stay there for the night. Stay away if you can!!!!

Good
They have new comfy beds and nice pillows, big tv sets, a coffee pots that are easy to use, free wifi, and a convenient location to shopping, food and the highway. But it is quiet. It is an old building but they have done well in making it comfy...
This is not the nicest hotel in town and the rooms are very, very small (except for the suites). I attempted to use the shower and the water just dribbled out. We called the front desk, and they immediately moved us into a suite which turned out to...

Ups and Downs. Checkin was a pure disaster. I had my reservation, but when I arrived, I had to wait while several problems were being dealt with in front of me. As the lobby was closed, there were about 8 people packed in the entryway, and it was very difficult to get any organization there. It seemed that there was a problem with many electronic keys (more to follow), so many guests kept coming back, and line-jumping, causing an increasing delay. When I got my key, which started as the fastest transaction, I found that my room had been untouched by housekeeping since the previous occupants had checked out. I marched back, told them the situation, and was told "that's the room you reserved". I told him that unless he wanted to clean the room right then and there, he'd give me a new one, which he did, however, the key did not work. I had to be let in, about 20 minutes later, by the manager (who was doing this for many guests). This problem had to be fixed the next morning. Through my stay, I had problems with people knocking on my door in the mornings and leaving, and housekeeping continually left the hot water running in the tub (which I didn't discover for about 10 hours or so). Otherwise, my stay was pleasant, once the troubles were sorted out. The daytime staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. The gentleman who drove the courtesy van was also a pleasure. In fact, one of the ladies at the desk was really helpful in helping me choose a nice restaurant to take my ladyfriend to on Friday evening. The only reason that I would not be likely to stay at this facility again is the location. While I've been looking for work and housing in the area, I have stayed at many of the local Days Inns. This one was rather out of the way, in that it was about a 25 minute bus ride to the King St Metro (times when the van was not in service to Van Dorn). It was about a 2 hour commute for me (including wait times). While I may move nearby, I think that it will be a shorter commute to stay at one of the other Days Inns.
I am not likely
to return to the Days Inn Alexandria.
I would not recommend it to friends.

The motel was old but clean and comfortable. All we want is a clean room and bathroom. We only sleep and bathe and then are gone. The help was exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.
The lady at the desk went to her car to show us directions on a map she had. Due to road construction in the area directions were a bit of a problem.

I would definitely recommend it to friends.
The carpet looked like it had never been cleaned, or even vacuumed. The was old dried food on the worktable which had dripped down to the chair, and sticky stuff on the bedside table. The bathroom floor had whiskers on it from a previous guest,...
