If I could give this hotel a negative rating, I would. The staff is nice but the room was disgusting. Once we got off the elevator, it looked like something out of a horror movie. The lobby is NOT a good reflection of the condition the room is in! N

I arrived at the hotel and found it to be totally unacceptable: Although described to be in the touristy historic district of town, the hotel is in fact in a very bad area. It is next door to a bail bond agency, and there are bars on every window of every building within sight. Locals confirmed the hotel is in a truly unsafe area. The building is dirty and extremely run-down. A chain link fence surrounds the property and whatever existed as landscaping at one time is dead, dry and brown. The pool is a black weed-filled swamp!

Upon check-in we were told sorry "we don't have internet service". The toilet in our room leaked all over the bathroom floor, there was "nothing" on the breakfast bar not even the coffee was made, it looked like we were up before hotel staff was even though it was after the start time for breakfast! We also asked for a room with a balcony and was told there are none? Well thats not what the pictures on the web site show?? There are two handicap rooms in the hotel one on the 1st floor and one on the "6th" floor? Now, why in the world would a hotel with only two handicap rooms put one on the 6th floor? What if the elevator went out in a FIRE? To top it off we stayed in the business class suite!!
A remodel cannot help this building. It needs to be torn down and rebuilt. It is an embarrassment to this city. It is a dilapidated, filthy, smelly building in the worst section of an otherwise nice town. It is ideally located between two low-rent housing projects. I live in a neighboring town and I wouldn't dare get out of my car in that parking lot. This place was a total dump 10 years ago and no improvements have happened other than a bar and a laundry service have been opened up in the building. Oh yeah, they do have a new sign now with the new Days logo. Don't know where they took those photos but not at this hotel. Stay anywhere else in town, or a neighboring town, but not this one.

Our first choice was the Sheraton or Comfort Suites, but each of these hotels were booked. This hotel is located in a run down section of New Bern, several blocks from the waterfront area. The only thing positive about our two night stay was the friendly front desk clerk and comfortable beds. The rest of the staff were very unfriendly. The free breakfast consisted of cold cereal, mini bagels and coffee. The juice machine was not working and water was not provided. The hallways were hot and smelled bad. It seemed like the air conditioning was only turned on in the lobby and guest rooms, not the hallways or breakfast areas. The carpet in the hallways were filthy. We had reserved a king size bed room.
We were given the handicap accessible room on the first floor (the only guest room on this floor), right between the meeting room and employee break room, and it faced the front parking lot. When we asked to be reassigned, we were told there were no more king rooms available, even though they did not appear to be crowded.
They advertise free high speed wireless internet, but we were later told we the rooms were not equipped and we had to go to the lobby or the breakfast area to use it. Even though the rooms were only about $100/night, we expected a little more than this hotel had to offer.

Great Hotel for a great price!. The hotel has recently been purcased by new management and they have completed a fantastic renovation of the Hotel. In addition, the staff was so friendly and helpful. I cannot wait to return to this hotel on my next trip to New Bern!

looks can fool youGreat Hotel for a great price!. I had a wonderful stay at the Days Inn. I was a little worried at first because of the location and me being a women traveling alone. The hotel had great security and the front desk staff was very very helpful. My room was nice and quite and very nicely done. I will always stay at the Days Inn Hotel while in new bern on business and will recomment it to all my coworkers that travel to the area also.

The armpit of hotels, located in the armpit of an otherwise lovely New Bern, sold to me as a 3 Star hotel by the armpit of hotels sites. Avoid this hotel like the plague, I certainly will. Not enough time or space to list all the problems with this hotel.
