The Davenport Hotel is a grand hotel of the Gilded Age, opened in 1914 and the first hotel with air conditioning, central vacuum system and folding ballroom walls. The first Crab Louis was served here, named for Louis Davenport who called his hotel the "house of comfort." Fully restored and revitalized in 2002, the hotel offers a perfect blend of history, architectural beauty and modern amenities, where exceptional service remains the keynote and every guest feels at home. The Hotel's six ballrooms and over 33,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, provide regal settings for conventions, meetings and weddings. Opened in 2007 and designed to be the perfect complement to the historic hotel, the 21 story Tower (just across the street from the hotel) captures a spirit of timeless world travel and luxury in the finest of Davenport traditions. Guests are surrounded by elegance, fine imported furnishings and room decor, beautiful architecture and rich painting, sculptures and murals in the Tower lobby. Truly, the Tower is a landmark itself and the latest Davenport masterpiece. Refined elegance and comfort surround you in all of our 611 guest rooms and suites. The famous Davenport bed is the centerpiece of every guest room, which has caused many guests to declare, "A night at the Davenport is better then a night at home!"Expedia.com travelers ranked the hotel #3 in the U.S.A. and #6 in the world. Conde Nast Traveler has included the hotel in it's prestigious Gold List in 2007 and 2008. AAA has awarded the hotel a 4 Diamond rating, the highest in the region. Mr. Davenport said it best when he wished: "to so well please our guests, that they will be glad they came, sorry to leave and eager to return." Our mission statement remains the same today.

The Davenport is a slice of heaven in North East Washington. You are made to feel like royalty no matter how short your stay, no matter what your room type. I have said many times that I would love to live at the Davenport. My husband and I have stayed there many times since it's reopening in 2002 (every wedding anniversary in fact) and I am never dissapointed. The Palm Court Grill and the Peacock Room both offer wonderful atmosphere, food, and drink. I can hardly wait to stay again!

The Davenport was finally rebuilt into a classic. This hotel was once Spokane's grand lady, but fell into disrepair, and then was vacant for decades. About four years ago, it was reopened as a luxury hotel. I had to come stay here, because of the ...

From the chauffeured car service from the airport to the bellmen, the front desk clerk at check-in , the wait staff , the rooms (size and cleanliness) , back to the front desk at check out and the car service back to the airport (thank you Alan ! ) , the Davenport Hotel can not be beat. Everyone was in top form, polite and prompt. Immaculate service!
I looked at both rooms in the newer Tower and in the Classic grand hotel , both were absolutely fabulous. I chose to stay in the main building as I lean toward the more classical hotel with the history. Whichever your preference is the Davenport Hotel can provide.
This really is the only address to have in Spokane !

The Davenport is one of those hotels that you read about or see in movies, the kinds they had back in the 1940s. The attention to detail is astounding, the amenities are endless, this is a place to come and lose yourself.
Don't come to this hotel if price is your only concern, if it is, then stay at a "cheap" hotel until your last day, then book a night at the Davenport to treat yourself.
Compare what you get here to the same hotel (if it existed) in pricier locations, the value for the opulence is nothing short of amazing. Google: "Davenport Hotel, Spokane, WA" and look at all the videos.
I think the people writing bad reviews are competitor hotels. While nothing is perfect, the staff at the Davenport will bend over backwards to make anything out of place right.
Trust me this is a "Jewel in the rough". Anytime I'm Spokane I stay at the Davenport.
