Just a few of our impressions of our romantic getaway:
•Ceiling leaking brown water right on our pillows (no response from the staff)
•Rooms smelling funny – musty and unclean
•Huge spider webs behind the headboard of the bed
•Urine smelling bathroom with broken fixtures
•13 inch tv
•Cold hallways and public areas
•Décor in the rooms and throughout the inn straight from the 70’s
•General dirtiness – old, large spider webs hanging off the curtains in the dining room
•Overworked, gloomy and unresponsive staff
•Breakfast average at best – burned, soggy toast soaked in butter, underdone eggs, mediocre selection
•No towels for the pool
•The pool and jacuzzi are old and covered with yellow rusty stains, pool bathrooms were out of order and the emergency exit was snowed in
•Every corner you turned and every look you took there was something broken, dirty, old, covered with spider webs, dead bugs, dried up leaves, rust or stains
• 20% gratuity forced on you upon reservation – satisfaction with the service seems to be just taken for granted !
The biggest disappointment was the frustrated look in my fiancé’s eyes and his huge dissatisfaction with what we hoped would be a cozy, romantic weekend getaway.
Throughout the weekend, there was not one time when we felt special or good about any aspect of the inn or our stay in it.
We based our selection on the website, which presents the Inn in a very appealing way (note how the photos are diffused – there is a reason for it)
We spend almost $500 for two nights with the gratuity and tax (2 breakfasts included) and for that kind of money we felt simply cheated.
This place clearly does not hope to have repeat customers. It looks like the only way they are still in business is by not reinvesting a single $ back into the business.
Stay away at all cost!
