Cypress Hotel is a boutique safari-themed hotel in downtown Cupertino. The hotel is 10 miles from San Jose International Airport and six miles from the Shoreline Amphitheatre. Designed to resemble a Mediterranean villa, the nine-story hotel is a colorful mixture of safari themes, designer touches, and Mediterranean style. The lobby area, which includes full-length windows overlooking an outdoor fountain, has a decidedly hip 1960s theme, with a gas fireplace and red-velvet couches, faux-fur throw pillows, and shelves of gorgeous vases and antiquities. Guestrooms at the hotel come with high-speed Internet access and loads of zebra and leopard prints on the carpet, pillows, walls, and bathrobes. This 224-room hotel opened in 2002 with a restaurant, a 3,000-square-foot ballroom, and lobby with fireplace.
