For what I was looking for, this hotel had it all. I wasn't looking to spend a ton of money, just a clean and comfortable space to sleep. The staff was friendly and efficient. A perfect distance to the airport with a shuttle service. I would definitely stay here again.

I read some reviews and wonder what's wrong with people? The place has a club and a poolside bar open late so expect to here noise on the weekends. The rooms are basic, ipod dock and bathroom a plus but the mini-bar selection is weird. Most comfortable bed I ever slept in, love the pillows! Some of the decorating effects are nice after coming in from a night of hard partying like the elevator speakers! Don't pay for parking, there is plenty next door!
I love this place. Totally cool and funky, but not over the top or anything. Very comfortable beds, fun pool and outdoor bar, great food at the restaurant, two fitness centers, a business center, the whole nine yards. This is my default place to stay when I'm in LA for work. Also, it's only a mile or two from LAX and they have a free private shuttle service.

I arrived early in the morning and was offered a room upon check-in. I decided to wait until after lunch, however, hoping to get a room with a view of the airport runway. I thought I would enjoy a change of scenery and watch the planes come and go

At the price of a Travelodge, you could be staying in this hip, modern, fun place by LAX with free wireless and free continental breakfast. The rooms are very basic but you do get an iPod dock and all the basic necessities. This is now my go-to plac

I have stayed at the Custom five times in the past year. I live down in Orange County and stay at the Custom the night before early morning flights out of LAX. The rooms have been steeply discounted in the past few months (early '09) so that makes t

pros: Awesome experience for our wedding rehearsal dinnerWe decided on Custom Hotel to host our Friday night rehearsal dinner for about 55 of our out-of-town guests - families and friends who flew in for our wedding on Saturday.
pros: free wi fi, a glass of wine, expresso, attempt at modern designIf all you need is a place to crash a few hours than it's fine, but the basic room isn't very nice. There is no mini bar as the website states which is unfortunate because there...

I was looking for a vacation on a reasonable budget. The hotel could possibly be reasonable if you don't want to have a rental car or make any local phone calls. We asked for suggestions for car rental and they suggested a very high-priced service so we checked elsewhere and found out the service they recommend has horrible reviews from customers but the hotel recommends it anyway because they are paid when people rent the company's cars. What they should have mentioned was that the huge, 75% empty parking garage behind the hotel was not free for hotel guests. It was $22 per day. Local calls are also not free, however there is nothing telling you this until you are charged for every local call you make at checkout. Before booking the hotel, I had accepted the fact that there would be some airport noise at the hotel but was willing to deal with it becuase of the low price and the fact that the hotel boasted "sound-proof" walls to help keep out the noise. The walls were not sound-proof at all. The walls couldn't even keep out the noise from the club attached the the hotel until 2 AM or the noise from the other hotel guests around us.
My bill was still over $100 per night, so I wasn't expecting Motel 6 service, which is what we received with the rude staff and nickel and diming that occured. The rooms are really tiny and their "modern" layout is extremely inefficient with the bed dominating the room by being put in the center. For some reason the beds face a random wall and the tv is off to the side so you have to lay on your side or turn your head just to watch. The bathrooms are also extremely small, I didnt even know they made a shower-bath so small. If you are looking to spend about $100 a night, look elsewhere.
