First the good - The executive room was nice at first glance. The breakfast buffet was great, and they were clearly the only service oriented employees in the building. Now the bad - Accessing the hotel is very difficult - from a large curve on a...

Horrible
just spent the weekend there..bad location, hard to find, indifferent front desk staff(we are not problem guests),you could easily have a conversation with your next door neighbor through the paper thin walls and best of all no hot water....if you...
We stayed over a Saturday night in the hotel and found it less than satisfactory. Though the room was clean (always a plus) and the bed was comfortable, there were several problems. First, there is construction going on, and though fortunately it...

Horrible
As I write from the room, let me tell you what I found. Finding this place is almost impossible. You have to drive through a strip mall to get to the place and when you get here it is almost like they used another hotel in their ads. The place is ...

We were just there for three days the end of April.Very disappointing! The whole place needs a makeover. It is verging on shabbiness. Things are old and chipped and in need of paint. When we checked in we saw there was noone to help us with the bags.We had to ask for a luggage cart and it was difficult to get one.It is not in a good location and it is hard to get to as it is on a one way
access type of road off the expressway. If you are interested in being in the Biltmore area (as we were) this is "not" the place to stay.

I visited as part of the ASDSO conference that was hosted at the hotel in April, 2008.
I'll start with the positives: The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, the daily cleaning service was sufficient.
Now the negatives: Hotel not central to anything good about Asheville, entrance hard to find and looks like you're driving up someones poorly maintained private drive, building looks like a crappy Holiday Inn with low ceilings and cramped elevators, service poor, TV signal fuzzy, funny mechanical noise would occur just outside my room every 2 minutes 24-7, Bar terrible and smokey, conference meeting space inadequate and consistently freezing, room temperature control impossible (ended up sleeping with the sliding glass door open in order to cool), the staff was very rude at checkout, they double charged my account, no response to repeated phonecalls to the manager regarding charge issue and overall experience.
This is the only time I've stayed at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Asheville. I won't be returning.

We had a girls weekend in Asheville. With 5 of us, we were looking for something easy to downtown and Biltmore as well as a nice place to stay. Crowne Plaza's villas were perfect for us. The villas had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, and living room. The main bedroom's private bath contained a jacuzzi bathtub. The villas are decorated nicely and were very comfortable for 5 - they were also very reasonable as far as rates go. The only problems we had were minor (ceiling fan and some issues with the pull out sleeper sofa) and were immedietly taken care of (thank you manager Lane!). The Plaza has a free shuttle which eliminated our need to draw straws for designated driver duty!
I'll start with the +'s: Great bed.

The locationm is great, near everything in Asheville. The beds were heavenly, the rooms were large and the grounds were beautiful. It could have used a fan in the bathroom but other than that it was great.
