This hotel is a 9, but I have to take away 1 point for the location - it's a bit far out of the downtown core so be prepared to walk quite a bit to get to any of the downtown attractions.
I stayed here in May 2007 for 4 nights.
The hotel rooms are excellent with extremely great beds and bedding. They also give you ear plugs, an eye mask, lavender linen spray and a relaxation CD in all rooms. Very clean and very quiet.
Parking here is tricky, as it is in all of downtown Ottawa. The hotel shares a parking garage with City Centre (or Place de Ville). The entrance is just past the hotel on Queen St heading east - this is important because it is very easy to miss! Parking prices fluctuate between $15/night on weekends and $18/night on weekdays. Everything in Ottawa is more expensive during the week, because the main clientele is government and business travellers. Room rates generally plummet on weekends, I've noticed.
The lobby is huge and has a fun atmoshpere, and the gym is really nice for hotel standards. They have tonnes of freeweights, a big universal machine and some great cardio equipment.
The staff was quite nice, and they accomodated an early check-in for me with no hesitation.
The restaurants on site are very nice with a great lunch buffet that's fairly priced.
Overall, aside from the location, this is a great hotel and I'd recommend it.
