The Crowne Plaza Old Town Alexandria is located in the heart of Alexandria, convenient to Old Town Alexandria and Washington DC. I've stayed at this Radisson a few times over the past 10 years and seen it steadily decline. At its best it was a 3-star hotel, but the last time I stayed there about a year ago it was looking pretty run down. The halls were dingy and scary. The room was unclean and resembled one you'd find at a Days Inn. Our room was right next to the railroad tracks and the walls vibrated violently when the train went by (about every 30 minutes). Most travel sites rate this at 3-stars, it is not.
That said, I believe this is now a Crowne Plaza so maybe they've updated the rooms and cleaned things up. Check first. Otherwise, go to the Sheraton up the street, same rates, MUCH, MUCH nicer and in a better neighborhood.
