The setting and restoration of this hotel is very unique and interesting, with the train theme. Our standard room was nice, a little tight and could have used more space for hanging clothes, but otherwise was comfortable. HOWEVER, our entire...

Recently, my business travels brought me to Indianapolis. Not expecting much, I figured the Crowne Plaza would be an OK place to hang my hat for the week. However, when I entered the hotel I was immediately impressed. When I pulled up to the hotel,...

Excellent
My family and I stayed here this past weekend and everything was great. Our room was on the 1st floor near the pool, which didn't lead to privacy if the curtains were open, but if you're looking for character, this is the place in...
I stay at the CP every year when attending a conference and have also brought my family on other occasions. Rooms are very nice, beds extremely comfortable, and the staff is efficient, kind, and professional. Part of why I look forward to my conference is to stay a night in this hotel. In reading the other reviews I will agree the price is a little steep, but not in comparison to other downtown hotels in Indy (if you want cheap, go to the 'burbs). To me the worst issue is the cost of parking, but once you park (use the valet if you need in-and-out of garage privileges), you can walk to the stadium, convention center, downtown stores, and the Slippery Noodle, which is very convenient. The weekend brunch served by the restaurant is wonderful. The hotel website and reservations desk advises the place is an active train station, so anyone who complains about that just didn't do their research. Still, I have never had problems sleeping there, and I'm a fairly light sleeper. I haven't needed the earplugs or relaxation CD the hotel provides. The pool is adequate but not great (it's small); however, most people staying downtown come for the surrounding activities, they don't choose the area for a pool (most metropolitan hotels don't even have them). (For people who need one, the best hotel with a big, family-friendly pool in downtown Indy is Embassy Suites.) I was always told that if you want to eat at a good diner, go where firefighters and police officers go, and if you want a good hotel, stay where flight crews stay. I see a lot of pilots and flight attendants at this hotel. We've had king bed rooms and train car rooms, and enjoyed both, though if you are claustrophobic the train cars are not as spacious as a regular room. I would recommend the Crowne Plaza.
I am very likely
to return to the Crowne Plaza Hotel Indianapolis-Dwtn-Union Stn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
Our family had a great time!

Recently stayed at this location, and was pleased with the room and hotel in general. We slept in one of the rail cars, and our kids loved the experience. Hotel staff was very helpful, and the room was tight, but comfortable. The location in...
My husband and I just got back from staying at Union Station, we were only there for one night to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We had an excellent time. We got to stay in one of the train cars, it was really cool. This is still an active...

The hotel is wonderful. Do be aware that the noise from the pool carries very well. Request a room as far away from the pool as possible. Also, the train cars are neat, but they look just like they do on the web site...long and narrow. In...
