Okay
I was charged for a room after cancellation. Staff is friendly on the phone (one was not) and promises to call back with follow up never happened. No response to email. Rooms are overly expensive.
40 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for business
The Crowne Plaza in Heidleberg is near the main Hauptstrasse with shops, resteraunts and other attractions like the churches and Schloss Heidelberg, a must see visit. The rooms were large with windows that open facing a street. The maid service and staff were friendly, but not like the Marriott there. The breakfast is well done and behind it is a restaurant called Santa Lucia's which has unbelievable Italian food and my favorite is their Lasagne and Lambrusco wine, which was sent from heaven. The service is not always prompt, but the waitress yelling at the cook in Italian is pricess. There are also serveral other ethnic restaurants around it.
It is the perfect place if you want to walk and see the city. One must is the Kurplazf's Museum on the Hauptrasse which looks unassuming, but is wonderfully presented inside with various periods of art. Go see it. Philosophers way, a hill on the opposite of the river can be walked or driven up and the view is spectacular. You need to visit here once in your life.
I loved the service, they spoiled me and my husband! I'll be going back to Germany for Christmas and I'm staying at the Crowne plaza again, it is close to all the good shops in the center of down town.
