Crowne Plaza Albany Hotel - Page 1

I had to call daily to ask to have my room cleaned. The tub was grimy and the bathroom floor was never washed. The sheets were not changed (there was a stain on the sheets so I can say that with certainty). The crumbs that were on the floor of our room when we arrived were still there when we left. The housekeeping staff pretended to not speak Engligh when I asked for towels or to have them vacuum the room, but I later heard them speaking English to each other when they thought no one was around.

The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant food was good but VERY slow service.

There was construction going on in the attached garage that started at 7:15am with jackhammering every day.

This is one of the worst hotel I have been in. You get a motel service for the price of a 3 star hotel. The staff was uncourteous .. the rooms are old and moldy .. the elevator to the parking smells like pee .. I was staying multiple days and I even had to call the front desk to get house keeping. The view from the hotel stinks, the curtains are sheer only so you wake up to blinding light. I cant think of one good thing to say about this place .. except may be its downtown and convenient to a lot of stores and stuff. Stay at this place if you dont want to have a great time all the time during your vacation.

The only good thing about this room was the rooms were adaquate. Sorry but when you hear "Crown Plaza" you expect top service & accomadations & that was not the case here! The Kelly's Irish Pub inside the hotel was about the worst restaurant that I have ever been in. I ordered a cheeseburger (you really can't get this wrong, definitely shouldn't get it wrong twice) medium well & it came out almost medium rare, I can not stomach red meat. I sent it back under protest, I just wasn't going to eat it but the manager insisted that I send it back. So I get the new burger (they cooked a completely different one) and it came back so red that I was able to squeeze the blood out of it onto my plate. This time I just chose not to eat it. The waitress was horrible & the restaurant wasn't even busy when we got there. She had one other table of 10 come in right before us, the guys waited for the check when the ladies (just 2 of us) took the 3 kids to get into their swim suits to head to the pool. They waited for over 30 minutes for someone, anyone to come to the table with the bill which NEVER happened. They went & sat at the bar, so they could at least have a beer, they sat there for 20 minutes before the manager noticed them & asked how the meal turned out. WRONG QUESTION!!!!!!!! Worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant! Then we were at the pool for no more than 10 minutes & they closed it (not standard procedure) to clean it for an hour. They only did this because there were so many kids in the hotel that night, we were there for a karate tournament, but the people at the front desk tried arguing with us that it wasn't closed, and wouldn't even give us towels at the pool because they said they were all being washed, no towels at a hotel???? PLEASE!!!! They reopened it an hour later, 3 hours before they closed it, not to mention that the time that they closed it was 3 hours after check in time, just when everyone would be finishing dinner & bringing the kids there for some relaxation! The breakfast was just as bad, registration for the tournament was at 7:30 but the breakfast was supposed to open at 7, no they started to prepare the food at 7!!!!!! No good time to be had here! STAY AWAY

The Crowne Plaza hotel in Albany was pleasant, efficient and conveniently located near the train station.

The staff was friendly and informative about the area.

This hotel made me feel respected: The employees responded quickly.
