I have stayed here many times, many times with the family since the time I was young, and also with the High School Knowledge Bowl State Tournament. It is a sprawling complex. The Cragun family mortgaged the place many times over the years, and they kept adding on with the money. The resort has a beautiful dining room with great views of Gull Lake, as well as restaurant on the far side of the resort that was the dining room of another resort that they purchased. As far as amenities, there are nice indoor/outdoor pools, indoor/outdoor tennis courts, as well as an indoor sport court. There is the lake, with fishing, boating, swimming, etc.
This resort is one of the biggest resorts in Minnesota, but is still personal. "Dutch" Cragun always leaves a message on your phone. You can almost not run out of things to do there. They also have several world-class golf courses, which I have never golfed so I cannot speak for, but I know they are really well-rated.
One hidden gem is Oktoberfest. Celebrating many Minnesotans German heritage, (including mine,) there is a great German buffet, with loud, fun, old German music. There is a hayride with a German man and two Clydesdale's. This takes place in October, and rooms are cheaper then than in the peak season of summer, so this can be a fun option.
Great memories and times I've had at Cragun's!
