Uncomfortable and Filthy! When going to the Clinic I was expecting all-round cutting edge service and care. That circle of expection of a good modern campus quickly broke open.
Concerning this Courtyard, not only can someone who is sick and desperate enough to go to the clinic not stand this place (many other people I talked to agreed because they also were having trouble) but my caregivers also found it equally uncomfortable.
1. No conforming beds, they had those really cheap foam hospital, no hotel beds used but ones for incontinent patients.
2. They had very cheap furnishings. We got the most up grades and still they were hard very dirty foam. When I was sitting in it, the L-shaped sofa's two parts split apart and thank God I did not end up on the floor! Crumbs, wrappers, peanuts, etc. literally covered the entire floor under it as if they had been sweeping things under it for a long time.
3. Although they say they wash all the dishes in the kitchenette we always run them through the dish washer first. While loading, I noticed the dishes were all clearly used and put away unwashed. The bathroom had- well, I don't know how to put it nicely-human solid and liquid waste in it and vomit was on the floor and walls. Not only is this gross and dirty, but at a clinic I have even more concern about the probability of viruses, bacteria, etc to be passed through this and all the other filth I did not mention.
When we talked to the manager, she apologized, personally cleaned the room but was not surprised. Unfortunately, after the manager cleaned, not much was different in the room. My mom had to clean!
The rest of my fruitless visits to Mayo, we ended up staying at a beautiful place very close by at the beach with friendly staff and the same price! It was the Quality Inn Jax Beach next to the lifeguard building. A straight drive off the main road off JTB and its no more Mayo! But it’s still only a 7-10 min drive at the very, very most. I timed it and only about 3- 4 min difference. Still, you can go back to the hotel between your first three weeks of 40 appointments. :-) Gotta find something fun!
