39 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for business
I was here last week and the service I received from the Cafe was outstanding. The chef prepared my omelet the way I wanted it done with no hesitation. The server was pleasant and cheerful. She made sure that my assistant and I were taken care of (removed plates, re-filled coffee and juice, and brought over Wall Street Journal). The front desk agent was very helpful with directions and offered to print them out for us.
I came this week and the service at the Cafe was horrendous. The server pointed to the juice machine and said with attitude "It's over there, you can get it yourself" I wanted to order off the menu and she simply said it's a buffet style and once again get it myself. The chef was very friendly however disregarded what I said to her about not wanting butter and poured a heapful into the pan anyway. My omelet was very greasy and not edible. After 15 minutes she cleared the table and gave us our check. She charged us $21.50 for 2 adult buffets. I only had an omelet (which I did not eat) and my assistant a bagel and coffee (with grinds). They charged us for what we ate at a much reasonable price last week.
The front desk agent did not want to hear about the complaint. He did not offer any apologies. We then asked where the restrooms were and he pointed down the hallway. We overheard him say to another co-worker that he couldn't stand cheap people and that we should just go stay at the motel 6 and eat at Bickford's.
