As local residents, we were between homes and needed temporary lodging for 2 weeks. So we found ourselves at this establishment. After paying for our second week, we asked for another unit on the ground floor because of the amount of personal belongings we had to carry daily and the fact that we had children with us. Once in this 2nd room, we had a problem with the mini-fridge and we saw several roaches. I quickly complained to the front office, who were not too very happy with my tone and insistance on an immediate resolution. They eventually sent someone into the room who walked straight to the back with an attitude, said a few words, then walked out. Less than 3 minutes later we got a call from the front desk that the maintnance man saw 7-8 heads in our room and we had to immediately vacate because we were over capacity. Furious, as this was the first day of a seven night stay I had just payed for, I went to the office to explain that only the guests listed (my husband, 2 children, and I) and 2 visitors were in the room. The hotel initially said there was no problem with having visitors during the day but conveniently forgot this point, I feel, when I complained about the poor quality of my replacement room. I did dispute this charge with my credit card company, as the motel refused a refund when they told me to get out. The dispute was to no avail. Lesson....becareful if you are local (or new to the area) seeking temporary lodging and think you will have a visitor or two just as you would at your normal residence. The rooms smell stale and do have roaches as earlier explained.
