I checked in for a 3 night stay with my family, and we had an awesome time. We have stayed at this hotel several times, during the old ownership and the new one. Let me tell you the new owners have done a tremendous job at fixing up the hotel! There is brand new heated saline pool (which my kids loved, especially the tile work). They have cleaned up the courtyard area, adding a gazebo and bar-b-que (which my husband loves). Our room was very clean at a very reasonable price!! I could tell there were new beds in our room as well. I met the owners this time and they seemed like very down to earth, hard working people. The front desk staff, like always was very helpful and pleasant :). Yes I realize this is an older property, so plumbing isn't brand new. But when we all get old im sure our plumbing won't be the best either haha. Overall we had a great stay :). I read the other reviews, and these seem like negative unpleasant people in general :(. I feel if you are approaching people in a positive manner, then u will get a much better response out of people :). This is definitely the hotel I choose to stay at when I come to Grand Junction!

We stayed here as it was the host hotel for a race. Within 30 min or so of being at the pool we found our room was robbed of about $350 in cash. We had towels delivered to the room right before we went to the pool, went to the pool for 30-45 min returned to the room to find two of our wallets had been emptied of the cash we brought for the race. Is it a coincidence that the head housekeeper who brought the towels had just seen my wallet lying on the table? Is it a coincidence she is on parole? We are normally careful not to ever leave anything of value out but we were in a hurry. When we reported the issue the owners and managers were not apologetic but purely defensive, they didn’t even offer to comp the room. On top of all of this, the beds were hard as rocks, the AC didn’t work, and the carpet was so dirty that your feet looked like you walked across the blacktop parking lot. This hotel currently uses old school metal keys which at first I thought were pretty cool but now I realize that makes it untraceable as to who enters your room. While I am sure it is incredibly difficult to turn a troubled hotel around in the 1.5 years they have owned it I felt like they were accusing me of trying to scam them and didn’t care if I got robbed as long as it wasn’t proven to be their fault. This hotel is owned by Dave and Laura Lehmann who also own the Ramada in Grand Junction.

Shortly after checking into our room, my husband went to the bathroom. The toilet flushed a little slow, the next time it flushed, it wouldn't flush and started to overflow. I immediately called down to the front desk to report it and was told to come down and get a plunger. I was totally surprised by this. I am paying for a hotel room, I shouldn't have to use a plunger, nor should I have to go get it. My husband and I went down to the front desk, only to find out, she didn't have the plunger there.
There was a male there, who I assume worked in the lounge. He told the woman to go find the plunger. My husband asked if we should wait, or what. The male told us to go back to our room, and he would bring the plunger up, so we did.
An hour later, we had heard nothing, so I called back down to the front desk. The woman told me that they had found the plunger and we could come and get it. I told her that we were told that the male would bring it to our room. She said nothing, and just laid the phone down. Eventually the guy picks the phone up, and asked if he could help me. I told him I was still waiting for the plunger, which he had said that he would bring to our room. He was very rude and said that they were very busy. I told him that I needed to go to the bathroom, and I would appreciate it if they could bring the plunger up. He hung up on me.
I called back a couple minutes later, requesting the plunger, and was again put off. I asked the female if I should call a plumber, and she said that I could if I wanted to. She then handed the phone to the male, and he asked in a very condescending voice if he could help me, I said I just wanted to have a plunger, so I could go to the bathroom. He then asked, "besides that, what can I help you with?" I told him to bring me the plunger.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on our door. My husband opened it, to find the plunger, standing there, and the male, running away.
I was very mad about this whole incident. I was a hotel guest, I shouldn't have had to use the plunger, period. I also shouldn't have had to wait 1 1/2 hours to go to the bathroom. I should not have been charged for my stay, since I had to be a plumber, and I know what plumbers charge.
I know that I would never think of staying in this hotel, again. Very rude staff, and very poor service.

This hotel was a dump. There were no hairdryers, and no outlets on the vanity. The blankets should be replaced and the carpet was filthy. The heater in our bathroom was exposed with no covering over it!

I am surprised the Health Dept. has kept this place open. There were no secure locks, a shower rod and curtain fell off the wall, the plumbing was the pits. The linens were horrible A 1 rating is generous. We were in town for a family gathering and planned to stay four nights. We stayed one night and checked out.
