We checked in with high hopes - this hotel is beautiful from the outside and sits on the edge of the river in beautiful Sioux Falls, a town rich with history. However, it was more than we'd bargained for. As soon as we got in our room we discovered...

Great location. Loved being able to walk to a variety of places downtown and in the area. Parking was plentiful, easy and free. Wish we could have had a river-view room, but no luck on that. The beds were very comfortable. The young woman who worked the front desk our 1st day there must have been having a bad day. If that wasn't the case, she should find a new job. She was not welcoming in the least, grudgingly helpful when pressed for things & all in all, pretty surly. All other hotel staff were very friendly and nice. Breakfast: not bad, but not great.

This hotel has a great location right along the Big Sioux River and next to the Sioux Falls Park and Trails. I usually stay here since there is a complementary breakfast, pool, hot tub, and restaurant all for a very economical price.

Although the website said the hotel accepted pets, nowhere on the site or on my confirmation email did it state a ten-dollar charge would be levied. I've noticed this at other Country Inn and Suites by Carlson.
