Cottage Inn by the Sea Motel - Page 1

I go to Pismo Beach just to have a bowl of clam chowder from The Splash Cafe. I've never stayed at the Cottage Inn before and gave it a try this trip. It was fantastically charming. I spent a good amount of time just taking in the views while relaxing at the oceanfront pool. What a great combo; chowder at Splash Cafe and a visit to the Cottage Inn.

We've stayed here a couple of times simply because the ocean view rooms are fantastic. The lower floor rooms open up to a very well tended garden literally hanging at the edge of the cliff. They have sweeping views all the way down the coast to Pismo pier and the dunes beyond. The service was very good and breakfast was decent. The fireplaces are a nice touch, but crack a window! The bathrooms need to be updated, but overall the quality was good.

It was a great place for couples. There was several near by wineries and the Hearst Castle. The continental breakfast that was served was excellent.

This hotel made me feel extravagent: The hotel had a gorgeous garden to sit in to view the sunsets. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The rooms were very cozy and intimate.

The hotel was great. It was clean, charming and enjoyable.
