We love this place. The pool is beachside and located so your hotel doesn't shade it in the afternoon. The nightly entertainment at the beachbar is great fun.Clean and friendly.

The hotel is just that...ok. And I am not on the special paid review team like that other reviewer suggests. I agree that this hotel is sub-standard, but you have to consider that it is an ocean property and they tend to go bad faster than inland ho
The only thing I liked about this place was the fact that they had lots of things for the kids to do. The front desk staff was nice and check was fine. The rooms were outdated, the carpet was dirty, the sheets would not stay on the bed, there was...
The staff was extremely friendly. The room was a little dated, but the view was excellent. Our room was on the 12th floor. The breakfast buffet is great, a little pricey though. Lunch was only offered at a grill stand by the pool offering burgers...

Well Dear Sirs and Madams,
Anybody that gives more than one star to this establishment (and that's too much) is probably of a special mental capacity. The place looks great in the picture, but, beware! You pay for something and get f**ked...

We just returned from a 2 week stay at the Coral Beach Resort. We had a fabulous time! No we are not trailer trash! My husband is a Doctor, myself a professional and our two children are 7 and 9 (plus my 72 yr. old mother). We have been vacationing at Coral Beach for 5 years. My children have been singing karoke there since they were 2 yrs.old. Yes, my son sang Love Shack every night, sorry! We feel it is a family oriented hotel. Unfortunately drunks can be anywhere, they are even at our country club! Our room, the pools and the hotel were very clean. We were in unit 228. It was clean and very nice. It had many extra ammenities, a crock pot, electric skillet, DVD player, a vaccum. We did learn some of them are privately owned such as 228 and are extra nice.We had internet service inside the unit. We did have to call maintenance to unclog the drain in the bathroom. They came immediately and took care of the problem. The hotel is older but that is part of its charm. I worked out in the excercise room daily. There was disinfectant to clean the equipment. It was a little hot but I felt I was loosing weight! If you are looking for a full gym there is a local YMCA. We found the hotel staff to be very curteous and accomodating. We were stuck in a bad storm at Family Kingdom amusement park. We had walked to the park. All of the power went out and I called the front desk at Coral Beach, they offered to send someone to get us!!!! We love Coral Beach!!!!

Upon several hours of internet searching, we found Coral Beach, voted by Travel Channel as best family destination in Myrtle Beach. As we were combining two families (my brother's and my own), it was important that we had anemities that would appeal to our young children. As parents, it was important to us to have a clean, safe environment with a decent work out room and internet access. What follows are our reviews:
My Review: We stayed at Coral Beach July 19 through July 26, 2008. We were sorely disappointed and will not be returning. Our room was filthy! The carpets and floors had not been cleaned in quite some time. In addition, there were blood stains on our bedding. We stayed in room 940 with the kitchen. The kitchen was never cleaned and dirty dishes were left in the sink. On one day, the staff had cleaned some of the room but never returned to complete the job. I heard comments from the cleaning staff that they were short staffed and overworked and not allowed to take breaks. Upon our first trip to the pools, we discovered a crowd of tattooed, smoking and drinking loud people in the pools. I do not think that they were necessarily even staying at Coral Beach. On our arrival, at approximately, 8:00pm, Sat. July 19, we could not even get dinner at the restaurant. We learned that the cafe was closed for dinners and only served breakfasts, which we did not need. Our other big disappointment was the bowling alley. Our daughter loves to bowl. We quickly found out that we would not be able to get a lane, with only 4 lanes available. Finally, the exercise room was horrendous! It was at least 85 degrees in the room. The leg extension of the universal weight station was broken. The elliptical machine did not work properly. In addition, there were no disinfectant solutions available for use by the exercisers. It was obvious that the equipment has never been properly cleaned and was not being maintenanced. Luggage racks were nowhere to be found. The staff refused to assist us with finding one. Needless to say, we had to make several trips back and forth to load and unload. Another note on the conciergeour car battery died. My husband approached the front desk to ask for assistance. He was politely told that they could not help him. He asked if anyone had a car who could charge the battery. He said I have the cables. He was politely again told, sorry Sir, we have no one to help you. Thankfully, AAA came to the rescue. Finally, we had trouble getting connected to the internet through the hotel wi fi system in the lobby. We were surprised that the rooms were not wired for internet connection. We love Myrtle Beach, but we will not be staying at Coral Beach ever again. This was not what we expected from a resort that was voted best family destination by the Travel Channel. I have a feeling that that designation was given some years back. I plan to notify the Travel Channel of our experience.
My Brothers Review Like Taking a Trip into Trailer Trash Hell
Understatement of the Year: "This hotel has seen better days."
It's a worn down mess that needs a complete, significant overhaul. Oh, and some new management that gives a crap.
From the common hotel areas, to the poolside restrooms, to the kids' play area, to the itty-bitty joke for a work out room, to our hotel room....the place is filthy. No, it's beyond filthy. It's a putrid, caked on collection of sweat, body fluids, sand, and unidentifiable gunk.
A prior traveler on this site noted a number of the same things we encountered in our room - things like the sheets being old, worn out, not fitting the bed , and they were constantly falling off. That wouldn't be so bad except for the peeled-back sheets revealed a foul, hair speckled mattress pad last washed before it left the factory. The mattresses were cheap, old and very uncomfortable. The carpets in the room also were extremely dirty - clearly not cleaned in many, many months. After only 15 minutes or so of running around in the room, our kids' socks were literally black on the bottom. Needless to say, we decided to not walk barefoot in there for the balance of our stay. The bathroom was equally troubling, with pee stains on the walls, mysterious hairs everywhere, etc.
Not once during our stay did the room get cleaned! And we were there for 4 days. The staff only made the beds and replaced towels. The floors, toilet, shower, etc weren't touched. Carpet wasn't vaccuumed. The little soap and shampoo was not replaced, etc, etc, etc. The little coffee packets were not replaced. We had to call the front desk to get them to do anything beyond this. They did change out the sheet set for us, but only after we made a special request.
One step down to the pool area, outdoor bar area, etc and whammo! You just stepped into trailer trash hell. There was more hootin and hollerin, drinking, smoking, cussing, and karokee howling than you'd find in old Japanese western. (Or perhaps your local trailer park -- yeah, you might find it there too).
Although the pools, seaside location, SMALL lazy river, etc make this place sound kid-friendly and certainly made it sellable as such to us, the clientele and overwhelming filth greatly diminished from that purported benefit -- at least during our stay.
We will not stay here again.
In fact, we would never recommend that anyone stay here - even complete strangers. We care about minimizing the spread of communicable diseases.....
This resort was overall an "okay" place

Good
This resort was overall an "okay" place to stay. Upon checking in our room we went to look out our beach front balcony and you couldn't see the beach for these 3 palm trees blocking the view! We were so disappointed. It was a pretty layed back place ...
