This was a comfortable clean and friendly place to stay while a family member was in the Concord Hospital I would like to thank our housekeeper X for the care given for our stay.
male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
Apparently this motel has severed its relationship with the Choice Hotels organization. So, by the time you read this, it may have picked out a new name. You might want to check to be sure you are referencing the correct facility. Anyway, this motel is a decent place to stay for an overnight, or maybe several nights. I had a large room with some kitchen facilities (but no kitchenware was supplied) and a powerful air conditioner which is probably necessary on hot summer days. The bath area was large and the traditional small bottles of shampoo and lotion were supplied. A placard in the bathroom indicated that other complimentary toilet articles were available at the reception, but when I asked for a disposable razor the clerk couldn't find one. There's also a separate room used to serve a complimentary breakfast. And a small outdoor pool. Note that this motel is about a mile from the freeway exit and not near other motels. It is on a commercial street in a non-descript section of Concord. There are some groceries and fast food eateries, but mostly this is a localized area. Parking is only behind the motel. You can't pull in or stop in front of the motel because it fronts directly on Monument Avenue which is two lane and doesn't allow for parking. The local BART train to Oakland and SF is a few miles away; definitely not walkable. But there is some free parking. If you are driving into the downtown areas the 680 freeway leads directly into the 24 going West. I got to Berkeley within 20 minutes. I think this motel would best satisfy travelers with business in the area. I don't see it comfortable for vacationing families or those liking to walk around at night.
30 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
It was a typical Comfort Inn hotel, reasonably priced, with good service and a good location. However, we had to pay a one hundred dollars deposit up front on the room and they would not accept our payment in advance for the room, which was something new with a Comfort Inn hotel. We have never had those problems before.
I am very likely
to return to the Concord Inn & Suites.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
This is the best value you'll ever find.

We booked this particular hotel for the indoor pool. We were very upset to find it closed for renovations. We were offerred nothing but a passing apology which did little to make up for the smell of the chemicals in the lobby and dining area or...
32 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
After years of travel, this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
My flight was arriving after midnight the day I booked my reservation and (despite the fact that my reservation said they would hold the room until 7 am the next day) I called twice to confirm it, once right before getting on the plane. When I got off the plane, I had a voicemail from the same person I had just spoken with saying my reservation was canceled because I was a "no show" and my card was already charged for the night!!
The night person settled it and said he would charge me only for 2 nights as compensation and got me a room, but told me this happens a lot with this particular employee. The room was missing an ashtray and had no extra pillows or towels and the neighborhood was sketchy, but we managed. Then at checkout, the same employee denied he did it, refused to apologize and called me a liar. Then he told me he would be charging me for 3 nights and reversing the adjustment. I told him I wanted to speak to the manager first because even if he credited my card afterwards, the credit wouldn't show for 24 hours and my card wouldn't be available for my car rental. He charged my card anyway. I explained the manager the errors that were made but rather than apologize he defended his employee and while all this was happening, the employee began arguing with my husband and threatened to fight him.
The manager heard my husband and threatened to call the police, calling me a liar when I told him his employee made the threats! He then assured me that my card would not be charged until I called and told him the amount I thought we should pay. However, my card was charged immediately after, preventing me from being able to pay for my car! It was credited the next day, but then charged a third time a week later, for 3 nights, despite his promise to wait for my authorization! Needless to say, I am contesting the charge and will never stay at a Choice Hotel again!
