Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort Resort - Page 1

We vacation at Myrtle Beach every year; this was our first stay at Compass Cove. I WILL NOT BE BACK!

We had to wait 30 minutes to check in. Each new day, we had to call to request that the room be cleaned. A front desk clerk informed me that there wasn't enough employees to clean the rooms daily, that the rooms were only cleaned every 3 days. (I have stayed in hotels all over the country, and have always had my rooms cleaned everyday)

The sink stopped up.

During our stay, the wireless internet stopped working. Wifi was an important feature to us, but the front desk was completely unsympathetic to our complaint.

When I checked out, the clerk tried to charge me for a restaurant purchase I had not made. Ihad to wait 30 minutes for the charge to be cleared.

The pools were nice, but children were allowed to be at the pool without adult supervision, jumping and running and breaking pools rules without security doing anything to make the pools safe.

Needless to say, I will not be back.

I would have given a zero (0) but that option was not available. After checking in from a long 8 hour drive there is nothing worst than an uninviting and unfriendly check in staff. In addition to that, A nasty bug -- not a palmetto bug which are found in some areas of Myrtle Beach, was a waking surprise the next day. On top of that, a few offensive and inappropriate actions by a another guest of the hotel. But once bug was found we knew it was time to go. We expressed our concerns with or dissatisfaction - management charged us an extra day because we wanted to check out immediately (at this time it was around 2pm) when we woke to find a nasty bug in the bed - naturally most would not want to stay. we spoke to two managers ( who were not very sympathetic with our situation and totally disregarded our total satisfaction - and even charged us for that day and we didnt even stay. I deserved a full refund and they were trying their best to get more money out of us even as we were leaving - unbelievable. I would not suggest staying here to anyone. People who own at this resort will try to sell you the idea because they are stuck with it - but if you really want a nice resort stay at the north end. that's what we ended up doing. Even a few members of the staff informed us of some of the issues with people running the place. what an inconvience to have try to find another hotel during 4th of July week - but it was worth it to get away from Compass Cove. Overall, rooms not clean, staff is not welcoming, and parking is horrible - if you have a nice car - you are better off parking on the highway than in their garage - that's if u can find a space. do you and your family a favor - if you want to enjoy your family vacation - find another resort. A vacation should be relaxing, comfortable not stressfull. I wont beging to reveal how they screwed up my credit and bank account. they actually charged me another full acount to my card when we checked out by mistake - and I guess when they realized that error they immediately issued a credit for the second charge - when they were supposed to be refunding my money - is that crazy?

This is a very nice hotel. The reservations clerk is very efficient and friendly, as are other employees when you arrive.

This hotel made me feel secure: They have security guards to patrol.

The location was good. It was near the amusement park, which was great for my son. We enjoyed the pool a lot. It was a little noisy at night, but not too bad.

The Compass Cove Resort was a pleasant experience. We had a beautiful view of the beach. It is a great place to stay!
