We got to the hotel with minor problems finding it. The exterior of the building drew us to it, like it was inviting us in. We got in and the desk clerk kind of rushed us, we had to ask where the room was and how to even get to it. The lobby was incredible! Big screen t.v.s and a fireplace with rich textures all around. After going up to the fourth floor our room was near the elevators so we found it right away. We walked into smoke. The hotel is 100% smoke free but it wasn't always smoke free. The room itself was originally decorated nicely but they hadn't touched the room in a long time. They didn't change the curtains out (which were falling off the wall) they had cigarette burns all over them. The furnace filter was not changed because when we turned the air on the get the stale cigarette smell out it pushed more of the smoke smell into the room. We were actually suffocating in smoke because by that time smoke was actually into the air in a cloud. It gave me such a headache I couldn't even stand up. My stomach became queasy and I wanted to go to the doctors. We finally decided to ask the desk if they sold aspirin at all anywhere in the hotel and they did. They sold me a package of Advil. At 8:30 pm I took them and at 2:00 am I felt better. The hot tub had sand all in it and was so cloudy you couldn't see ANYTHING also there was huge chunks of black hair floating at the top of the water. It was gross. The sauna I never got to use because there were children in it and there parents weren't paying attention to them. The pool water was great though. It was warm and I could swim! It was nice compared to the letdown of the sauna and hot tub. The breakfast was AWESOME! It made me so full! They kept it stocked nicely so nothing ran low. Everything was good!! By the morning when we woke up the smoke smell was almost gone so it didn't bother me that much. The fire alarm went off at about 10:30 am though. Somebody pulled the alarm so it was a false alarm, the housekeeper in the hallway was reassuring and kept her cool. When we finally checked out (at noon!) the desk clerk didn't know how to take the safe warranty off the bill (1.50 plus tax) so she only took the 1.50 off and not the tax. But she gave me great directions to the mall that was tricky to find but she told us the way and we found it ok. I will stay here again, just not on a previous smoking floor. Other than that one bad thing that seemed to ruin the trip it was fine. Good luck, I hope this review was helpful.
