This hotel was not very clean. Tiny bugs all over the room and a big roach crawled across the desk mirror. Pool filters were off so pool water was murky. Non-smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke! Staff not very friendly.

The headline says it all. Pool and other areas were also quite deplorable. We were not sure how the AAA book listed this one. The staff doesn't care and the manager is always "out." We checked in - and couldn't wait to get out the next morning. Breakfast is meager and you'd do better to not eat.

My sister and I woke up in our hotel room to discover that our beds were both infested with bedbugs.

The hotel did nothing to remedy this, and the manager wouldn't even talk to us. We were told that the manager said they were dust mites after the maintenance engineer looked at the room and said "Eww" and told us to leave immediately. They were black bugs that oozed blood when squished, they were not dust mites!

They offered to reduce our rate! Can you imagine? Naturally I wouldn't pay for this room at all nor stay another night. We were offered no assistance in finding another hotel and offered no compensation of any kind for the horror or trauma of this experience.

They did not seem outraged to discover the situation which leads me to believe that it's not an isolated event. Do not stay in this hotel under any circumstances.

Security was not up to standard when I was there in late May - early June. A non-guest was allowed to wander in the early morning hours and bang on doors. The front desk did not know how to handle it. Neither was the housekeeping in our room or the public areas adequate. The guests seemed to think that it was OK to dump food and trash in the hallways overnight! There seemed to be less food at breakfast and the pool water was quite cloudy and we refused to go in. Kids ran unsupervised up and down the hallways and lobby. Their management was patronizing in their attitude about these things. We found that ChoiceHotels that owns this chain does not stand by its "100% Guaranteed" standard. We had stayed here quite a bit in the past for pleasure or business. This was the last of those visits!

It was adequate for our reunion purposes.

The walls were so thin I could listen to the conversation by the people in the room next to me. And this was a new hotel. Unacceptable.

This hotel made me feel welcome: They had rooms available at reduced rate, so that we could go there to escape hurricane Charley.
