PLEASE READ THIS THROUGH - WE WERE CHARGED A FINE OF $150. FOR ALLEGEDY SMOKING - AND WE DON'T EVEN SMOKE!
My family and I visited this past week - May 21st and booked a suite for 4 nights.
The room at first glance appeared to be okay, but the maid service and stone cold staff simply ruined the atmosphere.
READ ON IT GETS INCREDIBLE TO BELIEVE
Air conditioner: warm air, smelled like gasoline
Had to get toilet paper each day from front desk
Had to clean our own coffee pot each day
Had to ask for coffee room envelopes each day
Towels as thin as paper with holes in them
Unclean bath tub and hair from previous visitor
Bottle caps and candy wrapper under the bed and next to couch
Different sized pillows and simply too much mileage on them
No staff greets you, assists you or makes eye contact - AT ALL
WE DID NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT ANY OF THIS. We were not in the room except for the night, and did not want to be bothered. (slept with windows opened to make up for lousy air).
HERE COMES THE UNBELIEVABLE EVENT
On night number 3 (of the 4 night stay), someone knocks on our door at 9:30PM, explaining that there was a complaint about noise and a smoking smell. The person never introduced herself, but clearly had her own agenda. She said she would root out the culprits - and left. We forgot about it and enjoyed the next day and night, chalking it up to inexperienced staff and lack of customer service.
When we checked out on day number 5, we were hit with a $150. fine for smoking in our room. Here is the kicker -
THEY CHARGED OUR CARD WITH AUTHORIZATION AND EXPLAINED THAT WE WOULD NEED TO SEE THE MANAGER FOR AN ACCURATE EXPLANATION - WHO WOULD ARRIVE IN 10 HOURS. WHAT WERE WE TO DO? WE DROVE HOME TO NJ FOR THE NEXT 9 HOURS.
We spent most of the day on our cell phone trying to reach anyone helpful at the Comfort Suite customer care line - to no avail. They advised us to take it up with the hotel only - SO WE WAITED TO SPEAK DIRECTLY WITH THE MANAGER.
When we called the lady identified herself as a Manager and the person that knocked on our door that 3rd night. She was not only rude by also confrontational, explaining that she knew someone was up to no good in our room.
CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?
My husband and I are in our 50's and were traveling with our college son who suffers from asthma and had picked this hotel for this very reason - a smoke free environment.
I am in dispute with them and expect a call from them tomorrow as THEY REVIEW this problem - how? I'm not sure. Grill the maid I guess?
I have since filed a complaint with the better business and also have contacted the Ohio Attorney General's office and may even file a civil suit against this Manager - who conjured up this entire fiasco.
PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT AND IF YOU DO, MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SMELL OF SMOKE WHEN YOU DO..
Everything you have read is absolutely true and we are extremely upset over the way we were treated for no reason
