Our reservations were for a Handicap Suite.
The most serious problem I saved for last so be sure to read this entire post.
When we made the reservations, we told them that we needed a roll away bed or cot. (We have to use hotels a lot and know enough to ask about the bed height!)
When we arrived, there was no cot or sofa bed as agreed upon, and the bed was to high for my wife to get on from the wheelchair so we had to settle for the sofa bed. (Most hotels think a Handicap person can pole vault onto the bed).
We did get the sheets for the sofa bed without a problem but we had to make up the bed ourselves. There was no mattress cover or even a comforter for the sofa bed so we had to use the spare blanket under the sheets which meant we had to adjust the room temperature. (We were told that there were no comforters, blankets or mattress covers available so we had to make due with what we had in our room).
The HVAC unit was really hard to use. It took me about 7 or 8 minutes to figure out how to get heat on a chilly night in August because there is a thermostat on the wall but also a control on the HVAC also that actually worked together (A real weird system).
Once the sofa bed was opened, my wife was confined to the front of the room and couldn't see the TV or come into the main part of the room.
The first night there our commode blocked up and overflowed. I called the front desk and was told to go up and get the mop, bucket and plunger and do the clean up myself, because, as I was told by the desk clerk, " We are a limited service hotel, there is no one here but me"
After a brief discussion, I was able to convince the clerk of the error of his ways and he cleaned up the mess.
At one point my wife needed a few Xtra towels. I had to sign a form for the Xtras.
When we checked into the room there was no TV remote and the one the clerk got for us didn't turn the set on or off so I had to get up and do it manually which is no big deal, but it shouldn't be when you're paying well over a hundred dollars a night.
The Worst I saved for last!
The Bathroom had a strong smell of urine and when I complained, we were told that there were no more HP rooms available. The next morning the maids did try to clean it up but the smell was still there when we checked out.
There are quite a few other hotels in the area! try one of those, but skip this one!
