Comfort Suites Gurnee - Page 1

Price was high for a "suite", it was a regular hotel room (maybe slightly larger) with a king bed, small microwave and tiny fridge. The tiny coffee pot was set on top of the microwave, which was set on top of the little fridge, and things had a tendency to slide around (trying to get the coffee pot out of the coffeemaker, you had to hold the coffee maker with one hand while pulling the coffee pot out or it would slide forward and fall to the floor). In room movies were pricey. Almost $11 with taxes. You can rent them at a blockbuster for $5 or buy it for $10 to $15. Glass coffee pot was busted when we tried to use it the first morning, told the desk and when we returned later that day it had been replaced with a stainless steel coffee pot.

Rooms were cleaned well each day, but on the third morning when we got up we found the top sheet had old dried blood on it up high near where your shoulder would be(not a lot, but noticeable, obviously old) it should have been discarded not continually washed and reused. The breakfast was better then usual, running from 6am to 9 (10am on weekends) with a young lady making sausage, biscuits, omelets etc while cleaning up. Over all not a bad place to stay. With a little better setup on the coffeepot/microwave/fridge thing ( a small microwave cart?), slightly larger drawers and a few more hangers (not enough room or hangers for 2 people for a week) it would be an excellent place to stay. It doesn't quite live up to my expectations as a "Suite". But I will stay again, as it is better then most places, and its a clean place!!

There was no closed caption for the deaf and those with hearing difficulties. I was not happy with that.

We love this hotel. We have stayed there twice now and enjoyed it very much. It has a good price and the hotel is in a prime location, close to both Great America and the mall. It has an excellent continental breakfast and is very comfortable.
