Went to this hotel during the HHBacker Pet Convention in October 2007.
Pros & Cons:
-Shuttle service from O'Hare to hotel is on request from the courtesy phones. But the shuttle took some time for pick-up.
-Shuttle service to the convention centre was poorly coordinated as required more drivers and vehicles for this event and had to wait as there were no scheduled times to leave.
-Rooms are unique in that it is rectangular in design where you enter to the sitting area then the bathroom and then the room. The furnishes need to overhauled as the appearance is very outdated.
-For breakfast, you had better reach early as items are not restocked and will run out. They give you a bit of work making your own waffles. The breakfast area was next to the bar area and persons were smoking inside and this was carrying over to the breakfast area.
-The rooms were cheap and tacky but then again it was only to sleep at night and thus the tackiness maybe overlooked.
-If you are travelling in the early morning make sure to call and confirm a shuttle departure time. Even though there are suppose to have a 24 hr shuttle service to the airport this is not necessarily true. We wanted to leave the hotel at 5am to the airport and had contacted the front desk from the night before and there was no driver scheduled to provide shuttle service. The front desk wanted us to take a cab at our expense. Luckily a driver came early to their shift.
-Customer service is severely lacking down to the receipt you get where the front desk person tears the letter size paper in half to conserve on paper
