Comfort Inn Yosemite Motel - Page 1

This is our first trip to the Yosemite area. I researched hotel fares to death, and this hotel kept coming up as the cheapest one with a kayak profile that looked acceptable, ie no cockroaches. We were pleasantly surprised to see that our room is large, comfortable, well decorated, and very very clean. The staff has been very helpful and friendly.

This being a relatively slow week for them, the place seems to be only half full which is still great for a slow week, of course. It seems the staff assigned us all to the quiet side of the hotel. (There is a karoake bar next door.) We even have a view of the mountains!

We walked around the Best Western property last night. It is a nice place, but much more expensive. If the Comfort Inn weren't such a great place, we would relocate there. But this place is the right choice for us and will be every time.

We love Oakhurst. I read all about it last night on city-data dot com from the hotel's internet. The only thing I didn't like was the high percentage of voters who supported our last president in 2000. But as a visitor, Oakhurst has a lot to offer- lots of restaurants, a movie theater, hiking, a picturesque creek, friendly locals, and great access to Yosemite.

On our way to Yosemite park, we stopped there to see if they had a room available. There was and we spent a very comfortable night, leaving the next morning. They have a very hospitable staff, the hotel is very clean and we had no problem whatsoever, as expected. They have a good reputation.

It's an average hotel, but they had a recent fire in the lobby area and we were not advised of this at the time of reservation. But for our stay, it really did not make any difference. The people were sociable and nice and we expect to return there. It's within walking distance to restaurants and stores.
