We stayed at the Comfort Inn West this past weekend to attend the Duluth Air Show. This hotel is located in West Duluth in a small industrial park. A Perkins restaurant is immediately accross the street as well as a Wells Fargo Bank which was convenient for the cash machine. The hotel is approx. 3 miles from the Duluth harbor, which is really a short drive. The hotel has easy on/easy off access to 35W highway. It was also a short 15 minute drive to the airshow at the Duluth airport over the hill.
The Service is really what sets this hotel apart. It appears to be a family run business. The front desk staff are very friendly. The hot breakfast in the morning was very good as well. (Eggs, bacon, waffles, rolls, fruit, cereal, etc) With a family of four having this included in the price of our staff was value added. They also had a movie Sat. night in the lobby with popcorn & lemonade included. The pool, was a bit small, but the kids really enjoyed themselves in it (they had pool tools included already which was a real plus).
I would consider this hotel to be an excellent choice for the budget conscious. Perfect for the business traveler or family of four asking for a nice place to stay without having to set yourselves back $200 - $300 a night. We enjoyed our stay at the Comfort Inn West and we really enjoyed the Duluth Air Show (even if it did rain towards the end of the show when the Blue Angels were performing). Thanks for a pleasant stay.

The Comfort Inn West in Duluth is a good value place to stay. For the price, the service, room and breakfast are excellent. The check in / out process was very efficient and the young woman, I believe her name is Melissa, was wonderful to work with.
As others stated, we were required to argue to remove the safe charge from our room. They also billed both the card that i made my reservation with and the card that I presented at check in. This has been rectified.
Stayed two nights recently. Quiet, clean, great breakfast, super staff, etc. Would stay their again, anytime. The fellow who complained about the safe charge must not stay in hotels too often. Many hotels do the same thing, one just needs to have...

Horrible
After checking in for two (2)nights, the next day we returned to find all our luggage and medical equipment packed up and removed from room because they mistakenly wrote down one night rather than two. Manager refused to admit their error. Very...
This was hands down the worst motel I have ever stayed at in my entire life! The room stunk like mold and the front desk staff was rude and not qualified to flip burgers down the street. We were charged because "choice hotels" forgot to...
