Comfort Inn and Suites Markham Hotel - Page 1

We have been staying at the Comfort Inn in Markham for 5 years now and this year we had several problems. I had 7 rooms confirmed and all of the guests named for those 7 rooms. When we got to the hotel, there was 1 person working trying to check in 10 couples. One of the guests got a room that was already being occupied by another guest and then she told the attendant and she checked into it and found out indeed there was another guest in that room. At that point they didn't have another room for this guest so they were thinking of sending them over to another hotel. We were a little upset because the 16 other people in our group were already checked in and staying in this hotel. The hotel had so many people standing in the waiting room waiting to check in and they only had 4 rooms and 5 couples wanting to check in. The Owner/Manager came out and pointed at a guest and said that he promised this guest a room and he told her to take care of him. It really upset us because we had everything confirmed, yet the hotel managed to screw this up. I was not pleased with the way the manager took care of this situation. We were staying because we were going to the race and one of the things we had mentioned in the past was for the hotel to start the continental breakfast early so that we could get coffee and orange juice. The hotel still did not honor our request. I was not pleased with this either.
